Q1: What was your inspiration for creating the bears and writing the books?
The Amputeddies were first made for the president of the company Jean Boelter who became a lower extremity amputee at the age of five. First bear was made out of an old dish towel and a toilet paper roll.

Yes, bears can be custom made to show the specific limb difference of the receiver of the bear.

No due to manufacturing restrictions

No basic bears are usually readily available in our inventory however custom bears take six to eight weeks to deliver
